Maurice Campbell, G.S.E.B. Advanced PGA Coach at Leighton Buzzard, and Paul Ashwell, Head Professional Wyboston Lakes GC, EGU National Squad Coach and Golf Monthly Top 25 Coach have been appointed as the two coaches for TIP in 2012. The early season coaching sessions will all be held by Maurice and Paul at Wyboston Lakes, on the following dates and times.

Sunday 19th Feb. 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm

Tuesday 6th March. 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm

Sunday 25th March. 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm

Wednesday 18th April. 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm.

All TIP squad players are expected to attend.

Entries for this summer's leagues are to close shortly.

The closing date for the mid handicap league is 6th February, and for the Scratch League it is 14th February. If your Club wishes to enter it is important that the entries are received before those dates as late entries will not be accepted.

The Annual Dinner was held last night at the Riverside Suite in Luton. Over 160 golf club members and guests representing 14 Bedfordshire Clubs were at the event to enjoy a four course meal plus coffee and mints. They heard from the EGU President, the Bedfordshire President, Chris Foster and comedian Lee Wilson. The President of the EGU, Anthony Abraham, is pictured above proposing a toast to the Bedfordshire County Golf Union.

After the meal but before the speeches, 'end of season' presentations were made to the winners of the County Matchplay, The Bedford Cup, The Order of Merit and Player of the Season, together with trophies to the various Scratch League winners. A raffle on the night to help support Junior golf raised a magnificent £841.17, so thank you to all who contributed either on the night or by donating prizes ahead of the evening.

Next year's dinner will be held on December 7th 2012. Get the date in your diaries now. Other photo's below show Club tables and the President talking to Club members.

The Bedfordshire Order of Merit (BOOM) for 2011 is now complete. Many congratulations to this year's winner Niall Johnston (Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands) - pictured - who finished with 203 points. This was only 14 points ahead of runner up Matt Hill (Leighton Buzzard) with the 2010 Order of Merit winner, Rob Sutton (Dunstable Downs) finishing in third place, just 32 points behind Niall.
